Operation Salad Rolls!
What a week!
I hate entering hospitals at the best of times but now with the big Coronaviris scare upon us, it makes the experience all the more unpleasurable.
This week I spent a lot of time in hospitals- in fact three different ones across the city! My senses and heightened awareness over the increasing fear of this virus were put to the test as I tried my best to navigate around each hospital without coming into contact with any surfaces!!
When Friday came along I felt I deserved a a treat so I decided to have lunch at a new Vietnamese restaurant that had just popped up. I ordered my favorite Vietnamese appetizer, salad rolls, and waited eagerly for my order to arrive. When they did,I was completely taken by surprise and a sudden loss of appetite. While the salad rolls looked fantastic, what accompanied them was a pair of scissors in a bowl. Whaatttt?!!!!?! Both of which immediately brought my thoughts back to my week of hospital exposure; the various surgical tools and the bowl looked like the dish pan used in the removal of sutures! All that was needed to complete my experience was a few coughing and spewing patrons, a pair of rubber gloves and a surgical mask!
What a great way to ruin a lunch!
I immediately motioned to the server to box my food up and left.
Instead, a pint of beer, (maybe two), for lunch was truly what the doctor ordered!
Cheers everyone!
