It Takes a Village!
As the days, weeks, and months of Covid 19 wear on, it gets more and more difficult waking up 3 teenage boys to do their daily homework. We initially started out at 10:00 am, then 10:30, 11:00, and now its become 1:00 pm. It’s a frustratingly slippery slope and sometimes the struggle is just not worth the fight. Lately however, a flock of volunteers have come to my rescue! Coincidentally (I’d like to think by divine intervention), a flock of partridge frequent my son’s bedroom window early in the morning hour. A number of them stand at his window where they begin pecking persistently on his window pane until the racket can no longer be ignored! This results in effectively ousting him out of his bed to shoo the visitors on their way. What a great help they have been!! After all, it takes a village to raise a child doesn’t it?!! And these days I need all the help I can get even if it’s from my feathered friends! Subsequently, I’ve started setting bird food outside THREE bedroom windows. Bird food is cheap, covering up my grey hair is not!!
