Covid Realities – Family Side
Life for all of us has changed so much in the past couple of months that we wonder what it will be like again when isolating is over, social distancing is no longer required, and a smile is not covered over by a mask. Perhaps we won’t be so apt to take so many things for granted that we once did.
On a lighter side here are some Covid 19 realities family-side.
May they bring a smile to your day
1.My one son has so many broken brackets on his braces that he takes his wire out to brush his teeth at night!
2.It’s the best time ever to teach three teenagers to drive-no one is on the road!!
3.Going for groceries happens every three weeks at our household. The first week our meals have great variety and there is abundance. The second week the best treats and favorites have vanished and the meals become more basic. By the third week creativity is at its peak (covid-fusion!) and new concoctions arrive on the table with the remaining food scraps.
4.Every three weeks I become the most popular person when I arrive home with the load of groceries! It’s like I’m a big celebrity as everyone runs to the door to greet me!!
5.An average grocery cart can hold approximately $450-$500 of groceries (I fill three shopping carts every three weeks!)
6.$1000+ worth of groceries produces a grocery bill receipt longer than one meter in length!
7.Now when I enjoy a bottle of Corona” beer I turn the label around so I’m not reminded of the pandemic. When I don’t, I drink a whole lot more!!!
8.I have a “bat cookie kit” that the boys at one time were eager to make. Now no one is interested in neither making or eating them. Makes me batty!!
9.I can’t sell my “Corona“ hammock on any Market Place site
10.I’ve begun cutting hair. Takes me two days to complete! First day is my first attempt at it. Second day, I work to balance out one side with the other. Then I shout .”wallah” done just as my Mom would have said!
11.When I begin unlocking the front door after my daily morning walk, I hear my boys shouting to one another from inside, “Ok brothers, mom’s back. Everyone look like you are doing your homework!”
I’d love to hear some of your Covid 19 realities family side.
Take a moment to share them!
