Gone Missing!
Covid 19 has been challenging for all of us in one way or another. We all have a pandemic hardship story. For myself one of the most challenging things, besides having my wings clipped, is having 3 teenage boys doing online learning from home. Each day begins with a giant push out of bed followed by continual monitoring and encouragement to stick with their Zoom meetings, complete assignments, and adhere to a schedule. The other morning I started with getting the eldest out of bed and online. I then moved onto the twins. By the time I checked back in with the eldest he had muted his teacher’s lecture and had fallen fast asleep again!! Besides the daily physical presence and pressure needed to keep their learning progressing, there is also this growing gap of feeling left behind with their learning; unable to help. Now the boys need graphic and scientific calculators! I have never heard of these before!! What ever happened to the basic calculator I used in high school? I can’t even manage to turn them on let alone understand the symbols on the key pads to solve a math problem!! Top it all off with 3 boys occupying every space and crevice in the house and you just may find me nowadays hiding in the walk in closet under the hung up ironed shirts or in the bathtub with a sheet over my head hoping that no one will find me!!!! So if you pop by, ring the doorbell a few times, it may take me a while to get there!!
