Homeschooling- It’s almost a wrap!
By the end of this week homeschooling will disappear as quickly as it came upon us. Becoming but a bad nightmare from the past! However, the memories will linger long after. Memories of searching for assignments from 12 different teachers all whom are using different modes of technology, dragging three teens out of their beds for missed Zoom meetings, daily amnesia of forgotten passwords, 0% charged batteries for computers at outset of the day, “soft” due dates, sore butts as we gathered for hours at the kitchen table, fist pounding hard surfaces for emphasis, writing essays (as a support!) only to hear your child say, “I thought you were a good writer?!”, looking at the daily Math assignments as if they were written in some foreign language, and the steady arguments over important vs unimportant due dates.
As I pivot into summer mode I wonder who will I argue with on a daily basis?! How will I fill my time?! Then again I better rest up. After all September is just around the corner and I’ll likely have the same teaching assignment!!!!
Photo Footnote: I came across this sign on a recent walk. I think it suits this piece perfectly!!!😋
